A victory is always sweeter when shared with someone dear to your heart.

A beautiful story of true friendship.
You’d know that a friendship is real if there is genuine respect, care, and love – these are the exact ingredients that these two young women have.

Back in 2019, Trinity Arrington was hailed the homecoming queen at S&S High School. It was indeed such an amazing moment when the spotlight was on her, however, the kindhearted lady knew exactly what a true queen should do.

Instead of taking all the praises and credit, Trinity decided to share her crown and winning moment with her fellow nominee and friend, Emily Petty.

How and when did their friendship start?

Emily has down syndrome but that didn’t stop Trinity from loving her. Their friendship began in 2018 when the homecoming queen was seen taking her lunch break at their high school’s special education classroom. That’s when the two started to create a beautiful bond and just like what we always say, the rest is history.

Turns out, the lovely ladies discovered that they had a lot in common but they never thought that being nominated as homecoming queen was going to be one of those.

Before the coronation, Trinity’s classmates asked her if she was hoping to bring home the homecoming queen title. The young woman sure wanted to win, however, she also knew that winning the crown would mean the world to Emily.

So, instead of asking her classmates to vote for her, Trinity told them to vote for Emily.

Coronation day.

On the most-awaited day, Trinity still ended up bagging the crown as the homecoming queen. Shortly after the announcement of the winners, Trinity immediately walked towards her dear friend Emily, she then took off her crown and passed it onto Emily. Together, the best of friends shared that beautiful moment of triumph.

“I decided to give my crown to my sweet friend Emily because she’s always wanted to be a princess,” she told KXII. “So I decided she deserved it.”

“When I decided to hand her my crown, I cried,” Trinity said while recalling that very moment.

Trinity and Emily also said in an interview that on that day, they enjoyed holding hands together, waving to the energetic crowd, and blowing kisses to their family and friends who attended the crowning ceremony (Emily’s favorite part). While for Trinity, having the chance to share not just the crown but that beautiful moment with her dear friend Emily was the unforgettable part of that special day.

“We got to be it together. I think that was the best part for me,” said the kindhearted homecoming queen, Trinity. “She’s always been my queen, she deserved it. It made her happy.”

On the other hand, Emily only had a few yet very meaningful words about her wonderful experience, “I love her. Every day,” she said.

Trinity could’ve owned both the crown and spotlight alone, but her kind heart decided to be unselfish, especially to her dear friend.

A true queen inside and out, Trinity just showed everyone that a victory is even sweeter when shared with people dear to your heart. We are certain that her friendship with Emily will only blossom even more because of their genuine care and love for each other.
