Single Dad Adopts Five Siblings Under Age Six In Order To Raise Them Together

Lamont Thomas, a remarkable individual with an unwavering commitment to the well-being of children, made a profound decision in October 2019 that set him apart. He chose to embrace the role of a parent to five siblings in Buffalo, New York, aged from one to five years old, preventing their heartbreaking separation.

Lamont’s dedication to the welfare of children has always been at the forefront of his life. On October 17th, 2019, he showcased his devotion once more by officially adopting these five siblings. With this heartfelt act, Lamont proudly expanded his family to include a total of 12 children.

The children he welcomed into his home at that time were aged five, four, three, two, and one, as documented by ABC News in 2019. Prior to this monumental adoption, this single father already had seven children of his own. Additionally, over the course of the last two decades, he had provided a loving and stable environment for numerous foster children.

Lamont’s journey into fatherhood commenced in the year 2000 when he initially became a foster parent to assist a friend’s child. Among his diverse family, he nurtured his two biological children, Anthony and LaMonica.

In 2007, Lamont made the compassionate decision to adopt twins, Germayne and Tremayne, followed by Jamie and German. It was after these four adoptions that Lamont extended his family further by adopting Michael, who happened to be the first child he had ever fostered, as noted by ABC News.

Lamont’s enduring principle has been to never turn away a child in need. He has either provided them with a loving home until they transitioned out of the foster system or were able to reunite with their biological families, or he chose to adopt them himself.

Lamont believed he had completed his journey of adopting children until he learned about the siblings of one of his former foster children, who were at risk of being separated. As he candidly shared with Good Morning America in 2019: “They had them in four different homes, four different cities… They deserve to be raised as siblings, and that was my fight.” Lamont’s commitment to keeping these siblings together exemplifies his extraordinary dedication to the well-being of children.
