One of the hardest things about enlisting in the United States Armed Forces is knowing there’s a possibility you’ll be away from your loved ones. Luckily, one soldier got to give her mom a surprise of a lifetime.

The last time that Specialist Vonqueasha Scott saw her mom in person was when she was at boot camp, nearly two years ago. Eventually, Scott was deployed to Germany, where she and her mom would talk on the phone almost every day.

Due to high airfares, Sederra, Scott’s mother, couldn’t make it out to visit her daughter in person. It wasn’t until Vonqueasha surprised her mom at work that the real tears came pouring out.

With help from Sederra’s co-workers, Scott was able to give her mom something to remember. The two shared a tear-jerking embrace that made everyone in the office shed a tear. Since Vonqueasha has been home, she and her family have made plenty of amazing memories together.
