When people think of classical music, they may imagine tuxedos, evening gowns, and a formal setting. However, sometimes the funniest things happen accidentally when everyone tries to act sophisticated!
The first funny concert incident occurred when an audience member slowly faded into REM sleep mode during a quiet section of the song. After a brief pause in the music, the orchestra hits a huge note at full volume, causing the woman to shriek loudly.
The conductor can’t help but smile and chuckle. After a few measures of music pass by, he even looks back to the audience to acknowledge the funny moment. The audience laughs again when the conductor displays his sense of humor, and the show goes on.
It is hard to act sophisticated on stage when a stray cat shows up. As the musicians prepare for their concert, a tan, white and black cat walks calmly across the front of the stage.
The cat is examining the people and the instruments as the orchestra members struggle to figure out how to react. Some of them eventually pet it, and the audience laughs at this unique concert guest.
Another funny moment features a wonderful soprano singer who dazzles the crowd with her vocal acrobatics. She sings with precision and beauty while the orchestra plays with passion. As she approaches her big closing note, she moves on the stage, giving herself room to hit the note while doing a cartwheel. The audience loves it, and the orchestra conductor can’t help but react with a smile.
These funny moments are capped off by a conductor who stops the concert to propose to his girlfriend. The violinist is shocked, and the audience cheers as he gets down on one knee and pops the question. There is no doubt that these are some of the most interesting classical concert moments ever!
