The perseverance of some individuals is truly remarkable. While some may give up at the first sign of trouble, others will relentlessly pursue their goals no matter the cost. One such person is Briton Alexis Brett, who exhibited unwavering determination to give birth to a girl after giving birth to 10 boys.
Alexis Brett became the first British mother to give birth to 10 boys consecutively, and after giving birth to her youngest son, Rothagaidh, two years ago, she still felt like her family was incomplete. Just a few weeks ago, at the age of only 39, she gave birth to her 11th child, a girl named Cameron. Over the last 18 years, Brett has spent more than 8 years of her life pregnant, and she is now overjoyed to have such a large family.
After giving birth to a long streak of boys, Brett finally gave birth to a daughter, and her sons treat their sister with love and affection, being quiet around her so as not to wake her up. The ages of her 10 boys range from 2 to 17 years old.
Despite the comments and criticism the family receives from the public, including unfounded accusations that they are having children for welfare benefits, Brett’s husband has a good job, which disqualifies them from receiving full benefits. Her husband is a train driver who leaves for work at around 5:30 am, leaving Brett to enjoy some quiet time to herself, which she usually spends drinking coffee and taking showers before the children wake up.
Being a mother of 11 children is not easy, and Brett has to do 49 loads of laundry a week and vacuum 7 times a day, yet she plans to return to her job as a part-time fitness instructor in a few weeks. While life with so many children is not always easy, Brett admits that she and her husband sometimes exchange looks that say “What have we done?” However, their children always manage to do something amazing, melting their hearts and making them feel that it was all worth it in the end. With Cameron’s birth, Brett finally feels like her family is truly complete.
